Re-Refined Base Oil (RRBO).
Sanyang Petroleum supplies re-refined base oil sourced from Malaysian re-refining capacity — a genuinely different supply chain from virgin base oil.
What re-refined base oil actually is.
Re-refined base oil (RRBO) is produced from used oil through full multi-stage processing: pre-treatment, distillation, hydrotreatment and finishing. Done properly, it reaches specification quality comparable to virgin base oil — with two structural advantages virgin material doesn't have.
Its feedstock is collected regionally, not shipped through crude oil chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz. And its production uses significantly less energy and emits significantly lower greenhouse gas than refining virgin base oil from crude.
We're building this range out grade by grade, starting where Malaysia's domestic re-refining base is most established.
- Supply-secure
- Feedstock is used oil collected regionally — insulated from Gulf-origin disruption and crude oil chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz.
- Lower carbon footprint
- Production uses roughly 50–80% less energy and emits significantly lower greenhouse gas than virgin Group I refining from crude.
- ATIGA-eligible
- Malaysian origin qualifies for Form D under ATIGA — zero import duty into eligible ASEAN destinations, subject to conditions.
